SACRAMENTO, Calif. (AP) — In an update just released by the Sacramento Police Department, authorities have provided new details regarding the shooting incident that occurred on June 9, 2023, in South Sacramento.

According to the Sacramento Police Department, officers were dispatched to the 7800 block of 36th Ave at approximately 11:21 p.m. last night in response to reports of a shooting. Upon arrival, officers discovered two victims, each suffering from at least one gunshot wound.

Immediate life-saving measures were initiated by the officers at the scene. Tragically, despite their efforts, a male adult victim was pronounced deceased on-site by fire personnel. The other victim, identified as non-life-threatening, was swiftly transported to a local hospital for further medical attention.

The Sacramento Police Department has confirmed that this remains an active investigation, and no additional details are available at this time.
