DETAILS FROM THE SACRAMENTO POLICE DEPARTMENT
On December 11, 2022, around 4:35 a.m., Sacramento Police Department patrol officers responded to the 5200 block of Stockton Boulevard for a report of a shooting. A private security officer was involved in a physical altercation with a subject, and during the altercation, the security officer shot the subject. The male adult subject was transported to a hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries on December 13th.
Due to the circumstances, homicide detectives and crime scene investigators responded to take over the investigation. They processed the scene, canvassed the area, and conducted interviews. The involved security guard was not arrested. The investigation remains active, and detectives continue to follow up on the circumstances of the incident.
The Sacramento County Coroner’s Office will release the identity of the deceased after the next of kin have been notified.
