Just after midnight, Saturday crews from the Sacramento Fire Department responded to reports of a structure fire in the area of 7th and J Streets.
When firefighters arrived, they found a large debris pile burning between buildings on the Merchant Street side, adjacent to the Downtown ice skating rink venue. They were able to extinguish the blaze quickly.
The cause of the fire was not immediately known and is under investigation. There were no injuries in this incident.
