POLICE: “Homicide Investigation – Lathrop Way and Commerce Circle”

An elongated crime scene has had a major portion of the Johnson Business Park shut down since about 5 a.m. Thursday morning. The following is a direct repost from the Sacramento Police Department Media Release:

“On July 22, 2021 just after 5 a.m., Sacramento Police Department patrol officers responded to area of Lathrop Way and Commerce Circle regarding a report of an injured subject. The victim, an adult male, sustained critical injuries and was pronounced deceased at the scene by personnel from the Sacramento Fire Department.

“Homicide detectives and crime scene investigators responded to take over the investigation. The circumstances surrounding this incident are still under investigation and there is no suspect information to provide at this time. Investigators will be conducting a thorough canvass of the area for witnesses and surveillance footage.

“The Sacramento County Coroner’s Office will release the identity of the victim after next of kin have been notified.

“The Sacramento Police Department encourages any witnesses with information regarding this investigation to contact the dispatch center at (916) 808-5471 or Sacramento Valley Crime Stoppers at (916) 443-HELP (4357).
