Two Shot, Suspect Search Underway in North Sacramento 1

SACRAMENTO, Calif. – SWAT team members have surrounded a home where a double shooting suspect may be inside.

Around 4:00 p.m., Sacramento police officers responded to a home on the 2500 block of Erickson Street in Sacramento’s South Hagginwood neighborhood for a reported shooting that just occurred.

When officers arrived, they found two adult victims suffering from gunshot wounds. Paramedics responded and transported the victims to local hospitals for treatment. The victims were stable and talking to police officers according to department radio traffic.

Witnesses told officers the suspect may have fled into a home on the 2500 block of Evergreen Street, which is one block east of the shooting location. Officers immediately established a perimeter around the suspected home and attempted to contact the suspect. After attempts failed, the SWAT team was notified and responded to the scene.

As of 8:00 p.m., the SWAT team has surrounded the home and will be attempting to make contact with the suspect. It is currently unknown if the suspect is actually in the home.
