SACRAMENTO, Calif. – An investigation is underway into a shooting at a house party that left five people injured. 

Around 11:30 Saturday night, Sacramento police officers responded to the 3800 block of 26th Avenue for multiple reports of a shooting that just occurred. 

When officers arrived, they found that five people had been shot at a residence on the street. It appeared a house party had been occurring prior to the shooting, as a large crowd was observed leaving when officers arrived. 

Limited information on the suspect is known, but witnesses say a tall male fled the scene toward Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd. 

Multiple paramedic ambulances were dispatched to the shooting to transport the victims to local area hospitals. 

The status of the victims is currently unknown, but the perimeter setup by officers was cancelled around 1:30 AM. 

The circumstances of the shooting is currently under investigation by detectives. Anyone with information is asked to call the Sacramento Police Department.
