Suspect caught after foot pursuit near 14th Avenue

SACRAMENTO, Calif. – A suspect was caught after leading police officers on a foot pursuit through a south Sacramento neighborhood overnight.

Around 11:20 Tuesday night, Sacramento police officers attempted to stop two subjects in the area of Stockton Boulevard and 13th Avenue.

One of the subjects started running from officers, at which point the officers gave chase on foot. The foot pursuit lasted for several blocks, ending up at a house on 13th Avenue near 46th Street. The suspect was able to get inside the home. After backup arrived, officers made their way into the home and took the suspect into custody.

At the time of posting, it was unknown if the subject was known to the home he entered or if it was a random residence.

The suspect will likely be booked into the Sacramento Main Jail. The reason for the initial stop and current booking charges are unknown.
