SACRAMENTO, Calif. – A bicyclist was injured after being hit by a car in Downtown Sacramento overnight.

Around 1:00 Sunday morning, an ambulance with the Sacramento Fire Department was responding to a medical call when the crew came upon a bicyclist down who had just been hit by a passing vehicle. The ambulance crew stayed on scene while another ambulance was sent to the original medical aid call.

The driver who hit the bicyclist was cooperative and stayed on scene to assist. The bicyclist was checked out by paramedics and was determined to just have minor injuries.

Officers from the Sacramento Police Department responded to take a report on the collision.

The collision happened in the core of Downtown where many vehicles, bicyclists and pedestrians were gathered for New Year’s celebrations along with normal weekend nightlife activities in the area.
