SACRAMENTO, Calif. – A driver was arrested overnight on DUI charges after crashing his truck into a North Sacramento home.

Just after 1:10 Sunday morning, firefighters responded to the intersection of Kern Street and South Ave. for a reported pickup truck that had crashed into a home.

When crews arrived, they found a small pickup truck in the front yard of a home. The truck had partially crashed into the home’s kitchen area.

Police officers responded to the scene and detained a bystander believed to be the driver. The man was evaluated for impairment and was arrested on DUI charges and transported to the Sacramento Main Jail.

An unloaded firearm found inside the pickup truck was held for safekeeping.
