WALNUT GROVE – The identity of the victim of a shooting in Walnut Grove earlier this week has been released.

Tony Brambila, 50, of Walnut Grove was shot and killed late Sunday evening on Railroad Avenue in Walnut Grove.

Deputies from the Sacramento County Sheriff’s Department responded around 10:20 Sunday night for a reported shooting on Railroad Avenue near Depot Lane.

When deputies arrived, they found a person who had been shot, and started life-saving procedures. Fire personnel arrived and continued life-saving procedures while requesting an air ambulance response. Despite trying to save the man’s life, the victim was pronounced deceased a short time later.

Detectives have not yet been able to determine a motive or release any suspect description at this time.
