SACRAMENTO – Police are investigating how two vehicles in the same driveway caught fire Monday evening in South Sacramento.

Firefighters from the Sacramento Fire Department responded around 9:00 Monday evening for a report of a vehicle fire with potential to spread to a nearby residence on the 1800 block of 60th Avenue in south Sacramento.

When firefighters arrived, they found two fully engulfed vehicles in the driveway, with fire also showing from the residence the vehicles were parked next to. Firefighters started a quick fire attack on the fires, quickly extinguishing them within a matter of minutes. The fire spread to a small portion of the residence, which was also knocked down relatively quickly.

The cause of the fire has not been released at time of posting, however the Sacramento Police Department was called to the scene to investigate the possibly of arson. Reports are that a family disturbance may have lead to the vehicle fires starting.
