62-year-old male deceased after motor home fire

CARMICHAEL, Calif. – A 62-year-old male died after a motor home he were living in caught fire Monday morning in Carmichael.

Firefighters were dispatched to a commercial vehicle fire on Leos Lane near Fair Oaks Blvd. around 7:45 Monday morning after receiving multiple reports of thick black smoke showing from the back of a tire shop. When firefighters arrived on scene, they found heavy fire coming from a motor home in the back of a residence.

Firefighters worked hard to contain the fire to the motor home and prevent it from spreading to nearby buildings.

A 62-year-old male was found deceased inside the motor home.

A fire investigator was called out per standard protocol. The cause of the fire was determined to be electrical in nature. Investigators were unable to rule out a nearby space heater as the cause of the fire.

The identification of the deceased has yet to be released pending notification of next-of-kin by the Sacramento County Coroner.
