WEST SACRAMENTO, Calif. – Sheriff’s deputies are investigating the death of a body found in the water Tuesday morning near the Yolo Causeway along Interstate 80.
Firefighters from both West Sacramento Fire and Davis Fire responded just after 8:15 Tuesday morning for a report of a body floating in the water along the Yolo Bypass.
After a fire boat was called out from West Sacramento Fire, the body was located along the Tow Drain area near the Yolo Causway and pronounced the vicitm deceased on scene around 9:45.
Yolo Sheriff CSI and Coroner are heading to the scene to assist.
The identification of the victim will be released from the Yolo County Coroner after notification has been made to the next-of-kin.
