SACRAMENTO, CA (Vineyard) – CHP says two people have died after a car ran into them at a high speed late Friday night in South Sacramento.

Around 11:50 late Friday night, CHP officers responded for reports of a multi-vehicle accident on Bradshaw Road near Rogers Road in the Vineyard community of Sacramento County.

When officers arrived, they found two vehicles involved, a 2010 Dodge Challenger and a 1992 Toyota pickup.

An investigation into the accident revealed that the the driver and passenger of the Dodge were traveling southbound on Bradshaw Road at a high rate of speed. The driver and passenger in the Toyota were traveling northbound on Bradshaw Road turning westbound onto Rogers Road. It is at this time that the Dodge broadsided the Toyota at a high rate of speed causing both occupants of the Toyota to be ejected. The Toyota, both occupants of the Toyota, a power pole and the grassy shoulder then caught on fire. Both occupants of the Toyota succumbed to their injuries and were pronounced deceased at the scene.

CHP are not ruling out drugs or alcohol, pending toxicology results. No arrests have been made at this time.

Update:Sacramento County Coroner has released the name of the passenger of the Toyota as Molly Xiong, 25, of Sacramento.
