SACRAMENTO, Calif. — Two individuals were found dead with gunshot wounds in the 3900 block of Clay Street in Sacramento on June 13, 2023, according to a press release from the Sacramento Police Department (SacPD). The victims, an adult male and an adult female, were discovered by patrol officers who responded to a report of a shooting around 10:13 p.m.
Upon arrival at the scene, officers confirmed that both victims had sustained at least one gunshot wound each. Tragically, medical personnel who arrived shortly after pronounced them dead at the scene. The identities of the deceased will be released by the Sacramento County Coroner's Office once their next of kin have been notified.
The SacPD has handed over the investigation to their homicide detectives and crime scene investigators due to the circumstances surrounding the incident. The investigative team will be processing the scene for evidence, conducting a thorough canvass of the area, and interviewing potential witnesses. As of now, the circumstances leading to the shooting remain under investigation, and no arrests have been made.
