Just before 6:30 p.m. Saturday, the Sacramento Police and Fire Departments responded to reports of a shooting, under the freeway, in the area of 3rd and W Streets.
When officers arrived, they found one victim shot with reports of the suspect fleeing with a pistol gripped shotgun type weapon, according to radio reports.
The victim was transported to the hospital via paramedic ambulance with non-life-threatening injuries.
Officers closed off 3rd Street between W and X Streets while they investigated, took statements and collected evidence.
