SACRAMENTO, Calif. – Continuing their crackdown on illegal sideshow activity, officers cited four drivers Sunday night in South Sacramento.

Around 9:50 p.m. Sunday, a California Highway Patrol aircraft was flying in the south Sacramento area when the officer on board observed sideshow activity occurring in the area of Younger Creek Drive and Sky Creek Drive. The officer notified the Sacramento Police Department via radio of the activity.

Ground officers responded to the area and detained four vehicles. Three of the vehicles were observed by the air unit participating in the sideshow itself; those drivers will be cited for the illegal exhibition. The fourth vehicle will be cited for spectating an illegal exhibition.

This is the most recent in a series of crackdowns by the Sacramento Police Department and the California Highway Patrol of illegal sideshow and drifting activities. Most the incidents have taken place in the Power Inn Road and Florin Perkins Road industrial areas, as well as the Metro Air Park near the Sacramento International Airport.
