17-229903 (Gun Arrest): Boxwood St / El Camino Ave at 3:02am
North area officers conducted an enforcement stop on a vehicle that was driving reckless in the area. The vehicle was occupied by four subjects. As the officer was searching the rear passenger of the vehicle, he felt a firearm through the clothing of the subject. The armed subject began to struggle with the officer in an attempt to get away. Officers were able to take the resistive suspect safely into custody. A loaded firearm and additional ammunition were found inside the suspect’s jacket. The suspect sustained a minor injury during the arrest but refused medical treatment. The suspect was arrested for numerous weapons charges and resisting arrest.
