SACRAMENTO, Calif. – A man was arrested after he attempted to set fire to a fast-food restaurant in south Sacramento late Sunday night.

Around 9:45 Sunday night, deputies responded to the Carls Jr restaurant on Florin Road at Franklin Boulevard. Callers were reporting that an unknown man had entered the management office of the restaurant and locked himself inside. Further reports indicated that the man was attempting to start a fire inside the restaurant.

When deputies arrived, they located the suspect, who put up a fight while being taken into custody. Due to the suspect’s aggressive behavior, deputies put the suspect into “max restraints”, a system that restricts movement of the person for their safety as well as deputies.

The restaurant was filled with smoke when deputies arrived, but it appeared that the fire had extinguished itself.

The reason for the suspect’s outburst is currently unknown.
