SACRAMENTO, Calif. – Sacramento police officers were able to successfully talk down woman from a parking garage ledge early Monday.

Just after 3:30 Monday morning, Sacramento police officers responded to the 100 block of Neasham Circle in Old Sacramento for a woman who was possibly attempting to harm herself.

When officers arrived, they located the woman on the top floor of a nearby parking garage seated on the outer ledge. The woman was expressing a clear desire to harm herself.

Officers trained in crisis intervention began speaking with the woman, attempting to calm her down. After a lengthy effort, officers were able to convince the woman to remove herself from the ledge and return to safety.

After the woman was assisted off the ledge by officers, she was transported to a local area hospital for further professional treatment.
