RANCHO CORDOVA, Calif. – A family was displaced from their home Monday evening after a car came crashing through their house.

Firefighters from Sacramento Metropolitan Fire District responded around 7:52 Monday evening for a reported traffic collision at El Manto Dr and Segovia Way.

When firefighters arrived, they found a two vehicle collision, with one vehicle in the middle of the roadway, and another vehicle that had gone through a backyard fence and into a residence at the corner of Segovia Way and El Manto Drive.

There were four people total involved in the collision from both vehicles. Two of the people were transported to the hospital with injuries. It wasn’t known at the time of posting what caused the collision. Rancho Cordova Police took over the collision investigation when they arrived.

The family inside the affected residence will be displaced until the damage can be repaired, including a broken water main. The estimated value of the damage was around $23,500.
