RANCHO CORDOVA, CA – Firefighters extinguished an early morning house fire in Rancho Cordova.

Around 4:45 Sunday morning, firefighters responded for a report of a house fire at 2621 Paseo Drive in Rancho Cordova. When firefighters arrived on scene, they found heavy fire showing from a one-story residence. Firefighters quickly started fire attack. At one point a nearby structure was threatened, but that was quickly resolved.

A single occupant of the home was thought to be missing and still inside for a while, however they were found later in front of a neighboring residence.

Fire officials say the fire started in the garage with extension into the main portion of the residence. The loss is estimated to be around $125,000. The fire is under investigation. No injuries were reported and one resident was displaced by the fire.
