SACRAMENTO, Calif. – Sheriff’s detectives are investigating the death of a 22-year-old after a shooting in south Sacramento.
Just after 9:30 p.m. Wednesday evening, the Sacramento County Sheriff’s Department responded to several reports of gunshots on the 3900 block of 48th Avenue in South Sacramento. Further reports indicated there may have been a victim down on the roadway.
Sheriff’s deputies arrived and located a 22-year-old male victim suffering from a gunshot wound. Deputies immediately began life-saving measures on the victim. Medical personnel responded and pronounced the victim deceased at the scene. The Sheriff’s department has not released any suspect descriptions at this time.
The identity of the victim was released by the Sacramento County Coroner as Octavio Rodriguez, 22, of Sacramento.
The Sheriff’s department is asking anyone with information pertaining to this incident to contact them.
