Woman shot and killed in apartment on Rio Linda Blvd

SACRAMENTO, CA – Sacramento Police responded to an early morning to reports of gunfire early Saturday morning, and found a female fatally wounded.

On Saturday, June 13, 2015, at approximately 5:01 a.m., Sacramento Police officers responded to the 2700 block of Rio Linda Boulevard regarding multiple reports of gunfire in the area.

Officers arrived at the apartment complex to find the victim, a female in her 40’s, lying in a bedroom, who had sustained a gunshot wound. Fire personnel responded to the location and transported the female to an area hospital where she was later pronounced deceased by medical staff.

Crime Scene Investigators along with Homicide Detectives responded to the scene to begin their investigation. Detectives canvassed the area, and contacted witnesses.

Detectives continue to actively investigate the circumstances surrounding this shooting. No suspect information has been determined.

Update: Sacramento County Coroner has identified the female victim as Stacy Norman, 50, of Sacramento.
