Sacramento police officers were trying to piece together the details of a double shooting incident that occurred Saturday evening in the Shining Star area of South Sacramento.

Just before 6:30 p.m. Saturday evening, Sacramento police officers and firefighters responded to a report of a shooting in the 100 block of La Fresa Court. According to unofficial paramedic radio traffic, one victim sustained a gunshot wound to the chest and a second victim sustained a gunshot wound to the upper leg.

“We do know they were coming into the complex from the north end off of Franklin Blvd.,” said Lieutenant Charles Husted, Sacramento Police Department.  “There appears to have been some type of altercation that occurred and that’s when the shooting happened.”

Both victims were in stable condition and in their early twenties, Husted said.
