North Highlands, CA | Firefighters attempted a rescue when they arrived to find a motor home fully involved with fire.

Sac Metro Firghfighters were called to a mobile home fire just before 7:30 Saturday morning. In route  firefighters could see a large column of smoke rising from the area and early reports came in that someone could have been inside Battalion Chief Ellis, Sac Metro Fire, stated.

Ellis stated  when firefighters made entry and conducted a search, they found the body of a deceased male.

Neighbors stated the occupant, in his 50’s, was a veteran suffering from PSD and a horder. They also stated that he would get very anxious if someone even parked in front of his residence for fear he would not be able to get out.

Less than a year ago a woman died in the same mobile home park when her home caught fire.

While speaking with a neighbor couple at their door, I could hear the low battery chirp from their smoke alarm. They stated it was top of their list to get taken care of today.

No firefighters were injured battling the blaze.
