Rosemont, Sacramento, CA | A shooting occurred Saturday afternoon at a Rancho Cordova area school leaving one injured.

Sacramento Sheriff Deputies (SSD) and Rancho Cordova Police responded to a call of shots fired at the Sequoia Elementary School on Rosemont Drive Saturday afternoon.

According to SSD, two subjects got into an argument near the playground area of the school when one subject shot the other. The victim of the shooting was transported to the hospital via paramedics with what was described as a non life-threatening gun wound to the neck.

A 9mm shell casing was found near by.

A vehicle reportedly fled the school after the gun-shot was heard.

No children were at the school at the time of the shooting. Apparently the two subjects were the only two on the grounds and their reason for being there is unknown according to SSD.
