Sacramento, CA | After locking himself in the Amtrak womans restroom, a suspect scuffles with police, injuring one.

Sacramento Police officers responded to the Amtrak station on I street Saturday evening for a report of a male who had locked himself in the women’s the restroom and was held up in there for nearly three hours. 

According to the Sacramento Police Department, when officers arrived, 25-year-old Hassan Peguese “attempted to assault officers while being taken into custody”. One officer was injured in the altercation, suffering a sprained wrist and fingers.

Peguese was charges are as follows:

  • PC 243(C)Felony BATTERY AGAINST PEACE OFFICER,CUSTODIAL OFFICER,FIREFIGHTER
  • PC 148.1(C) Felony FALSE REPORT OF PLANTING A BOMB
  • PC 69 Felony RESISTING EXECUTIVE OFFICERS
  • PC 602(K)Misdemeanor TRESPASS UPON LANDS WITHOUT THE OWNERS PERMISSION
  • BAIL: $50,000.00

Initial radio reports we heard stated that Amtrak security reviewed their security footage and discovered that the suspect had molested a child then himself in the restroom. The indication was that security went back and reviewed the footage after the suspect had been in the restroom for some time. Per the radio traffic, security did not call police until the alleged molest was discovered. At this point, there are no sexual assault charges.
