Arden, Sacramento, CA | Shots were fired in the parking lot of a major Sacramento shopping mall and witnessed by an officer.
(A) Lt. Norm Leong, Sacramento Police Department, was sitting in the Arden Fair Mall parking lot, in his unmarked unit, when he heard gunshots ring out and saw the muzzle flash from a gun. When the suspects spotted Leong they fled and Leong pursued.
Just in front of the Red Lion Hotel the suspects bailed out of the vehicle fleeing on foot and left the car in reverse running into Leong’s unmarked police vehicle.
Leong was able to detain one suspect as the other three fled. At the time we spoke with Leong there were no victims. Shell casings were found next to some vehicles in the Arden Fair Mall parking lot.
