The Sacramento Police Department is investigating a homicide in the 6100 Block of Riverside Boulevard. The incident, which occurred on December 7, 2023, around 12:51 p.m., involved a 21-year-old male who was shot and later pronounced deceased at a local hospital.
According to the Sacramento Police Department, patrol officers were dispatched following reports of a shooting. "While officers were responding, they were advised that the victim had been transported to an area hospital by a vehicle on scene," the department stated. Despite medical staff's efforts, the young man succumbed to his injuries.
Homicide detectives and crime scene investigators have taken over the case, focusing on processing the scene, canvassing the area, and interviewing witnesses. The investigation into the circumstances of this tragic event is ongoing.
The identity of the victim will be released by the Sacramento County Coroner’s Office once next of kin have been notified.
