RIO LINDA, Calif. — A 7-11 convenience store on Elkhorn Boulevard in Rio Linda became the scene of vandalism and looting on October 8, around 11:30 PM, in the aftermath of a nearby sideshow.

Responding to the incident mere minutes after the distress call, Sacramento County Sheriff’s North Patrol deputies arrived to find the perpetrators had already made their escape. Immediate investigations by deputies and detectives from the Sheriff’s Property Crimes Bureau were initiated, with efforts to canvass the surrounding area and identify potential witnesses.

Preliminary findings from the inquiry hint that some of the individuals involved could possibly hail from the Bay Area. In a bid to enlist public help in the ongoing investigation, the Sacramento County Sheriff's Office has released surveillance footage of the incident, which is accessible on all of its social media platforms as well as on YouTube at https://youtu.be/jqL-cqcvjTM?feature=shared.

The Sheriff’s Office is actively seeking information that can lead to the apprehension of those responsible.
