Just before 2 a.m. Thursday, crews from the Sacramento Metro Fire Department responded to reports of a residential structure fire in the 4000 block of Damant Court in the North Highlands area of Sacramento County.

When crews arrived, they reported heavy flames and smoke coming from the Bravo (left, facing the house) side of the home, according to radio traffic.

“Fire was knocked down, contained to the attic. No injuries reported, 3 persons and 2 dogs are displaced. The fire is under investigation,” Captain Parker Wilbourn, Spokesperson for Metro Fire, stated via Twitter Thursday morning.

“The homeowner stated ‘It happened so fast, we’re just glad we made it out!’” he stated.

Wilbourn reminds the community, “Fire grows quickly, remember to check your smoke alarms monthly!”
