On July 13, 2021, at 8:04 pm, dispatch advised of a solo motorcycle collision with the rider ejected at Martin Luther King JR. Blvd and 45th Avenue. Units from the South Sacramento Area began responding to the scene. While responding, units were advised that a Sacramento County Sheriff’s Deputy arrived on scene and was requesting emergency medical services to respond immediately. Based on information obtained during the preliminary investigation, investigating officers have determined, based on physical evidence only, a 32 year old male out of Sacramento was riding a Kawasaki ZX600 motorcycle northbound on MLK at 45th Avenue, at an unknown speed. The motorcycle left the east roadway edge, went over the concrete curb, and collided with a power pole east of MLK. This initial impact ejected the rider, and he in turn collided with another pole, resulting in fatal injuries. It is unknown at this time if alcohol and or drugs were a factor in this collision. The identity of the deceased will be released by the Sacramento County Coroner’s Office once next of kin is notified.
