THIS IS A DIRECT REPOST FROM THE SACRAMENTO COUNTY SHERIFF's OFFICE MEDIA RELEASE

At 7:07 a.m. on Friday July 5, 2019, the Sacramento County Sheriff’s Office responded to reports of a subject firing a “bb gun” in the 3500 block of Morse Avenue in the Arden Arcade neighborhood.

A female victim was transported to an area hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. Her injury was not consistent with a gunshot wound and the cause of her injury is undetermined at this time.

Upon arrival, deputies located evidence that shots were fired from a real gun. Deputies evacuated the apartment complex after identifying an apartment where they believed the suspect fled after the shots were fired. Sheriff’s Special Enforcement Detail (SED) responded to the location and took over the scene. Deputies cleared the apartment complex and determined the apartment was unoccupied.

The suspect is described as a male in his 20’s with brown hair and a goatee.

The investigation is now being handled by Sheriff’s detectives. At this time, detectives have not identified a motive for the shooting, nor have they confirmed the relationship between the parties involved.

Detectives are asking anyone with information relating to this incident, to please contact the Sheriff’s Office at (916) 874-5115 or Sacramento Valley Crime Stoppers at (916) 443-HELP. Tip information may also be left anonymously at www.sacsheriff.com or by calling (916) 874-TIPS (8477).
