On Friday, April 12, 2019, at approximately 3:04 a.m., the Sacramento Police Department responded to Lycoming Court after receiving a call from the Sacramento Fire Department regarding a medical aid call.

Officers arrived on scene and determined a male adult was shot with a pellet gun. Fire personnel transported the victim to a local area hospital. Despite life-saving efforts, the victim died at the hospital.

Officers conducted an initial canvas of the area for witnesses and evidence. Homicide Detectives and Crime Scene Investigators have been called to the scene to take over the investigation. Based on preliminary information, investigators believe this is an isolated incident and there is no threat to our community.

The identity of the victim will be released by the Sacramento County Coroner’s Office once next of kin has been notified.
