On Saturday, March 22, 2014, at approximately 1:33 a.m., officers responded to the 300 block of River Bend Circle regarding reports of multiple people gathered in the area.  Additional reports indicated a subject had been shot.

Officers quickly responded to find a residential party had taken place inside of an apartment.  Upon their arrival, officers also discovered a male victim suffering from multiple gunshot injuries.  The 21-year-old victim was transported to an area hospital where he later died.

A preliminary investigation revealed that the victim had been shot, inside the apartment, during the party.  The party goers, including the suspect, fled the apartment after the shooting.

Sacramento Police Homicide Detectives were summoned to the scene to assist with the investigation.  Although a specific motive for the shooting is not yet clear, Gang Detectives also responded, and are rapidly following up with any possible leads.

No other injuries were reported as a result of this incident.  Detectives are asking anyone who was at the party at the time of the shooting to please call police.
