Sacramento, CA | Mid-morning Monday, firefighters are called to an apartment fire directly across the street from Fire station 5.

SacCity, WestSac and Yolo firefighters were called to a report of smoke coming from an apartment in the 800 block of Broadway in Sacramento Monday morning just before 10:30. When firefighters from Station 5 arrived, literally across the street from the station, they reported heavy fire coming from the second floor of the apartment. SacCity Fire stated that the fire was contained to the single apartment unit and occupants safely escaped the blaze.

Broadway was shut down in both directions for the duration of the incident, between 8th Street and 6th Street.
