Sacramento, CA | A downtown man and his girlfriend were bound and robbed in their home after posting an ad on Craigslist and allowing potential buyers to come to their home.

Wednesday afternoon, Sacramento Police Department received a call from a downtown resident on 11th St., stating that subjects had bound him with clear packing tape at gun point in his home, and robbed him of about $7k in silver coins. SacPD is now taking a report from the victim and canvasing the area of 11th and S st. Per the victim, he posted an add on Craigslist to sell some silver coins. He was contacted by the suspects and agreed to let them come to his home to view the coins. He stated that the two African American men, came in to look at the coins. The victims, Orian and Lisa, described one suspect as somewhat chunky and the other as tall and skinny, both in their mid 20’s. The suspects pulled out a gun and bound him and his girlfriend, Lisa, loosely. As soon as the suspects left, he was able to escape and call police. A next door neighbor stated she heard some yelling and mention of a gun.

Sacramento Police Department would like to remind Craigslist posters to meet would be buyers in a public location such as a coffee shop or restaurant. They encourage you to never have the buyers come to your home. If the viewing of the items being sold takes place in a very public location, you are less likely to be robbed and victimized.

The suspects remain at large and SacPD urges any one with information to call 911 right away.
