An Arden cellular retail store has been robbed at gunpoint, employees forced into a back room.

An armed suspect, described as a male Hispanic wearing a white hard hat and white t-shirt robbed the AT&T Parrot store at gunpoint late Tuesday morning and forced the employees into a back room while he stole several cellular devices. The suspect was driving an older model Bronco with camouflage paint and a tan top, on scene Sheriff deputies confirmed.

The Parrot store, at 1415 Howe Avenue is next door to a Verizon store. The suspect parked in front of the Verizon, and employee told us. “He parked right here in front of our store; I thought he was going to be a customer,” she said. “I had no idea anything had happened until I saw several Sheriff cars arriving.”

This is at least the third in a string of Parrot Logic store robberies in the region since June, Deputy Linke said, one of which recently took place in Galt.

Personnel in other stores within the retail chain have been put on alert, unnamed employees said. A call placed to a Parrot GM was not immediately returned.

This story is still developing and will be update as soon as additional information becomes available.
