A shooting has occurred on the 3rd floor of the parking garage located at L and 10th Streets, just one year and nineteen days since the tragic mass shooting, which occurred April 3, 2022, just one block north.

At 2:53 P.M. Saturday, the Sacramento Police Department issued a media release acknowledging that a shooting had occurred and confirming one fatality; other than that, the media release is void of any real information or details but will be posted at the bottom for your perusal.

According to unconfirmed reports, the shooting victim may have been a security officer. CPR was initiated; however, he succumbed to his injuries on scene and was pronounced deceased by fire personnel.

Several witnesses identified a shooter who fled the scene and, to our knowledge, remains at large.

Sacramento Police Department Media Release

On April 22, 2023, around 1:50 a.m., Sacramento Police Department patrol officers responded to the 1000 block of L Street for a report of a shooting. At the scene, officers located one adult male victim who sustained at least one gunshot wound. That victim was pronounced deceased at the scene by responding medical personnel.

Due to the circumstances, homicide detectives and crime scene investigators responded to take over the investigation. They will be processing the scene, canvassing the area, and interviewing witnesses. The circumstances of the incident remain under investigation. There is no suspect information to provide at this time.

The Sacramento County Coroner’s Office will release the identity of the deceased after next of kin have been notified.

Callers can remain anonymous and may be eligible for a reward up to $1,000. Anonymous tips can also be submitted using the free “P3 Tips” smartphone app.
