THIS IS A DIRECT REPOST FROM THE SACRAMENTO COUNTY SHERIFF's OFFICE MEDIA RELEASE

At approximately 10:30 p.m. on Friday October 18, 2019, the Sacramento Sheriff’s Communications Center received calls regarding shots fired in the 9200 block of Henley Way in the Rosemont neighborhood of Sacramento County. The callers further advised that someone at the location was shot.

Deputies responded to the scene and located two male victims in their 20’s on the street. Both victims sustained gunshot wounds to the upper body. Deputies immediately began life saving measures on one of the victims who was unresponsive.

Sacramento Metro Fire responded and pronounced one of the victims deceased at the scene. The other victim was transported to a local hospital, where he is in stable condition.

Witnesses observed two unknown subjects fleeing the scene on foot after the shooting. No motive is known at this time. No further information is available.

The identity of the deceased victim in this case will be released by the Sacramento County Coroner’s Office after notification of next of kin.
