SACRAMENTO, CA – A hit-and-run driver led police on a pursuit from Old Sacramento to North Sacramento early Saturday morning.

Police received a call around 1:30 early Saturday morning for a report of a vehicle accident on Front Street near K Street in Old Sacramento. Initial reports to police was that one of the drivers was attempting to leave the scene, as well as brandishing a knife to the other driver. The driver who was attempting to leave the scene was being trapped in by the other driver until police arrived.

When police arrived on scene, the driver fled northbound Front Street, left Old Sacramento out I Street and went to 3rd Street where police briefly lost sight of the vehicle. One police regained sight of the vehicle, the driver took off on northbound Interstate 5 towards Natomas. The driver exited eastbound West El Camino Avenue. The pursuit ended a short time later on West El Camino Avenue at Fairweather Drive when the driver stopped and peacefully surrendered.
