SACRAMENTO, Calif. – Five people were transported to the hospital after a police pursuit turned into a major crash in South Natomas.

Around 1:30 Wednesday afternoon, Sacramento police officers were in pursuit of a vehicle occupied by four subjects. It was unknown at the time of posting why officers were pursuing the vehicle.

At the intersection of West El Camino Avenue and Truxel Road, the suspect vehicle crashed high-speed into multiple other vehicles. Paramedics were immediately dispatched to the scene.

Three of four suspects inside the vehicle were detained on scene. A perimeter has been established in the area while officers search for the final suspect.

Paramedics transported five patients from the vehicle crash to local area hospitals for treatment, one with critical injuries. It was unknown at the time of posting if any of the patients transported were the suspects.

The intersection of West El Camino Avenue and Truxel Road will be closed for the next few hours as the Sacramento Police Department conducts an investigation into the pursuit.
