SACRAMENTO, CA (PSN) — Two individuals were transported to local hospitals early this morning following a shooting in the DOCO Plaza area in downtown Sacramento.

According to the Sacramento Police Department, officers responded to reports of shots fired around 3:00 a.m. in the 300 block of K Street, near 4th Street. Upon arrival, officers located a male victim suffering from gunshot wounds to the abdomen and possibly the back or chest, according to police radio traffic.

Approximately an hour later, a second victim was found near 5th and J Streets, also suffering from a gunshot wound. The victim was transported to a nearby hospital, where their condition remains unknown.

The California Highway Patrol (CHP) assisted in the search for suspects. "We have two suspects detained with the assistance of CHP," said Officer Anthony Gamble, Public Information Officer for the Sacramento Police Department. One individual was detained at the 8th and Capitol Light Rail Station after being spotted by California Highway Patrol officers.

Sacramento Police continue to investigate the incident, and additional details will be released as they become available.

As of now, the identities of the victims and suspects have not been released, and the status of the victims remains unknown. Authorities are still in the process of gathering information.

"We'll provide updates when I get them," Officer Gamble stated.

The shooting remains under investigation, and police are urging anyone with information to come forward.
