SACRAMENTO, Calif. (PSN) — A residential structure fire broke out early Monday morning in the Northgate area of Sacramento, prompting a swift response from the Sacramento Fire Department.

Fire crews were dispatched just before 2 a.m. to the 600 block of Potomac Avenue following reports of a home engulfed in flames. Upon arrival, firefighters encountered heavy fire conditions emanating from the backside of the residence, according to radio reports.

Moments later, flames breached the roof, intensifying the blaze. Crews worked urgently to bring the fire under control and minimize damage to the property.

All occupants of the home, along with their dog, safely evacuated before fire crews arrived. No injuries were reported at the scene.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation, with a fire department investigator actively working to determine the origin of the blaze.
