RANCHO CORDOVA, Calif. (PSN) — A 35-year-old woman was arrested Tuesday after she shot her boyfriend with a pellet rifle, authorities said.

“At approximately 7:30 AM on Tuesday, October 15, 2024, Officers from the Rancho Cordova Police Department and Sacramento County Sheriff’s East Division Patrol Deputies responded to a residence on Charbono Way in Rancho Cordova regarding a male who had been shot in the stomach,” the Sacramento County Sheriff’s Office reported in a media release.

Officers and deputies provided first aid at the scene, and the victim, an adult male, was transported to a local hospital, the release added. The victim’s girlfriend, later identified as Ashley Walsh, was detained onsite.

Detectives from the Rancho Cordova Police Department and Sheriff’s Crime Scene Investigators arrived and determined that Walsh had shot the victim with a pellet rifle in the stomach, causing significant injury. “Walsh was placed under arrest and booked into the Sacramento County Main Jail,” the release stated.

She is being held on $50,000 bail and is scheduled to appear in court on October 17. Authorities have not disclosed further details about the incident or the relationship between the individuals involved.
