SACRAMENTO, CA (PSN)– In a swift response to a carjacking incident, Sacramento police officers have apprehended a juvenile suspect after a tense standoff at a residence near Mike Gartrell Circle and Honor Parkway.

The incident began earlier today at 5:39 PM when a vehicle was carjacked at gunpoint by three juvenile suspects in the 4000 block of Marysville Boulevard. Sacramento police tracked the stolen vehicle to a nearby residence, where they made contact with the occupants.

During the confrontation, one of the suspects, a male juvenile, initially refused to exit the residence. Instead, he threw a firearm out of a window and remained inside. The police quickly established a perimeter around the property.

"The suspect voluntarily complied and was safely taken into custody after exiting the residence," stated the Sacramento Police Department in their media release. The police have confirmed that the investigation is still active, and officers remained on the scene conducting follow-up procedures.
