SACRAMENTO, Calif.— A car theft led to a police pursuit and a dramatic ending in the south portion of the Land Park community of Sacramento early Wednesday morning.

The Sacramento Police Department received a call at approximately 12:30 A.M. from someone reporting that their vehicle had been stolen. Radio reports indicate that officers quickly located the occupied vehicle and began a pursuit through the Land Park community near Riverside and Broadway.

The chase came to a dramatic end when the suspects ran from the vehicle and fled into the community, jumping fences from backyard to backyard. However, the California Highway Patrol aircraft assisting in the pursuit was able to guide ground officers to the suspects' location using infrared technology.

The suspect was found on the second floor, but while attempting to flee, the suspect jumped to the ground and was met by a police K9. The suspect was subsequently taken into custody without further incident.

The suspect was transported to the hospital via paramedic ambulance to be treated for injuries sustained from the fall and K9 bite. The Sacramento Police Department did not release the suspect's identity or any additional information about the incident.
