SACRAMENTO, Calif.— The Sacramento Police Department responded to reports of a shooting in the Gardenland area of Sacramento on Sunday evening.

According to radio reports, responding officers located a male with a gunshot wound to the back of the head and one to the upper right back, in a vehicle pulled to the side of the road in the 2300 block of Northgate Blvd. The victim's identity has not been released.

Reports indicate that the shooting occurred in the 500 block of Wisconsin Ave.

The Sacramento Police Department stated, "Just before 5pm today, officers responded to the 500 block of Wisconsin regarding a report of a shooting. Upon arrival, officers located a male adult suffering from a gunshot wound. The male was transported to an area hospital in stable condition. Officers are actively investigating. We have no further information to provide at this time."

The Sacramento Police Department has launched an investigation into the incident, and no suspects have been identified at this time.
