DETAILS FROM THE SACRAMENTO COUNTY SHERIFF’s OFFICE

Just before 1 A.M. on Wednesday, April 5, 2023, Sacramento County Sheriff’s deputies responded to a residence on Garfield Avenue to assist the fire department with a call of a male not breathing. An update in the call indicated that the injury resulted from an assault, and the suspect was still on scene. When deputies arrived, they discovered a 65-year-old unconscious male who was not breathing. They began life-saving measures as the fire department arrived, but the victim was ultimately pronounced deceased at the scene.

Simultaneously, responding deputies detained 33-year-old Trenton SNIDER, who was also at the residence. Sheriff’s Homicide Detectives and Crime Scene Investigators responded to the scene a short time later, interviewed witnesses, and gathered evidence. Based on their investigation, Sheriff’s Homicide detectives arrested SNIDER.

SNIDER was transported to the Sacramento County Main Jail, where he was booked for several charges, including PC 192(a) – Voluntary Manslaughter. SNIDER is being held on $125,000 bail and is scheduled to appear in court on April 7, 2023, at 1:30 P.M.
